Basketball Season..."It's the most wonderful time of the year!"

HCHS Lady Tigers

"You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them."---Michael Jordan

It's that time again... basketball season has arrived. It's my first year coaching high school basketball and let me tell you, it has been exciting! Right now the Lady Tigers are 2-0 in regular season action after taking some tough loses in the Hall of Fame games. The team has so much potential...they just have to believe in their selves. For a team to be successful they must each posses mental toughness, a competitive drive, confidence, and a desire to kick butt every time they step out on the court. Our girls are young players but they are not going to back down. I am looking forward to this years basketball season because I know that the Lady Tigers can have a long successful season as long as they don't give up themselves because we the coaches won't give up on our players. We believe in them too much! Here are some action shot from a Hall of Fame game vs Wayne Co.

Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda...

“As we drive along this road called life, occasionally a gal will find herself a little lost. And when that happens, I guess she has to let go of the coulda, shoulda, woulda, buckle up and just keep going.” -- Carrie Bradshaw

Thanks to Carrie and her inspirational thoughts from my favorite show, "Sex and the City", I can't help but let go of all the "uninteresting" things that have happened in my life lately and use them to motivate me. I'm now into my first basketball season as assistant coach at HCHS and I am enjoying every minute of it. I can't help but to be thankful this time of year for all of the great things that have happened in my life lately and the great friends that I have and the ones that have come back into my life. When something crashes in your life, find the good and take it as a lesson learned. Only go up from the point you are stuck at and let God lead the way. Since I have had this huge change in my life I have decided to start back up on my fitness journey. I started November 8th with a 1,800 calorie diet including low carb and high protein. So far I have lost 4 pounds in two weeks. My goal is to lose 2 lbs. a week and so far I am following that pattern. Hopefully I will stay on this path and make it through the holiday season still fit.
